Thoughtful Tuesday: Release and Renew: A Self-Compassion Practice
Imagine carrying a backpack every day. At first, it’s light—just a few things you picked up here and there. But as the days go by, you start adding more: a worry about work, a small disappointment, a lingering regret, a heavy “should have.” Before long, you can barely lift it. Your shoulders ache, your energy drains, and even simple tasks feel exhausting.
Now, imagine if you stopped every so often to take the backpack off and look inside. You might realize that some of the things you’re carrying aren’t even yours to begin with. Others, you don’t really need anymore. By taking a moment to empty it out, you’d feel lighter, stronger, and ready to keep moving.
Today, let’s take a moment to do just that—a weekly check-in to release what we don’t need to carry and remind ourselves to pack a little lighter. Ask yourself, “What am I holding onto that I can let go of?” or “What do I need most right now?”
